Barcelona sign playmaker Olmo from Leipzig. Olmo’s arrival leaves Barca with a host of midfielders, including De Jong, Gundogan, Pedri and Gavi
Barcelona signed Spanish star Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig on Friday for a reported €60 million ($65 million).
“The player has signed a contract with the club for the next six seasons until 30 June 2030, with a release clause of €500 million,” the Catalan side said in a statement.
Playmaker Olmo was one of the top scorers at Euro 2024, scoring three goals and helping La Roja win their fourth title.
The 26-year-old played for Barca at youth level before moving to Dinamo Zagreb in 2014.
Olmo, an attacking midfielder who can also play on the left wing, signed with Bundesliga side Leipzig in 2020, with whom he has won two German Cups. “Young club, young players… we have grown, won our first trophies and made history together,” Olmo said on social network X.
